Milwaukee Rally September, 2010 Newsletter Vol. 5

What a Party!

Our engines are still ticking from the 2010 Milwaukee Rally. We rode. We hollered. We laughed. We poured a couple back. We soaked up the sun and the Harley camaraderie. We celebrated the season of Harley throughout the Cream City.

30,000 fans paraded into Milwaukee: wearing and riding their love of Harley. The parties flourished at the four dealerships, State Fair Park, the Harley-Davidson Museum and Water Street.

Perhaps traveling the longest distance--Andy Stratton and Trevor Mattin, from the Isle of Wight, England, voyaged 4,000 miles to see the chrome parade across the cream city.

Why?

“Well this is my LIFE!” said Mattin, member of the H.O.G. chapter in Guilford, UK. “For the sounds, culture and other bikers.” They stood downtown at the Harley museum, their English gust for life melding with the Milwaukee way seamlessly.

So far it’s been brilliant!”

The Poker Run saw many great hands this year. Wayne Sloan had the winning hand at the Poker Run, with a Four of a Kind, taking home $5,000. Next up, James Kirchner won the autographed guitar and Kathy Kobiske won a trip to Daytona. All other winners are listed on the site – www.milwaukeerally.com. Thanks to all who played!

On Saturday the stages riveted with music and the loud, food-smashing comedian Gallagher drew in more spectators than any stage in Rally history.

Gallagher, known for his over-the-top comedy bits sprinkled with smashed food of every origin, rocked the Water Street stage. At the end, crowd members were invited on stage to do their own smashing and for some, food fighting.

“That was the experience of a lifetime,” said Diane Stone, longtime Gallagher fan, as she wiped coconut cream pie from her face.

On the other side of Water Street, the winner of Ms. Milwaukee was Lisa Taylor, second place went to Kristen Storms and third to Jennifer Schluga. Thanks ladies for participating!

The Harley-Davidson Museum drew in plenty of people to check out the Custom Bike Show. It was a party that never seemed to end, beer tents at the dealerships kept flowing, Southern Rock kept jamming and Milwaukee shined in its black and orange heritage.

Until next year, be safe and enjoy the ride.
